Create a template

There are currently two ways to add a template to your team: import an existing template previoulsy exported from Tiro Pro, or liaise with us to create the template for you from your existing documents.

To import an existing template, select Templates in the action bar to open the Manage templates overlay, then select Create template, then From existing template.

In due course we intend to offer the ability to create your own templates from existing documents.

Import an exported template

Use this path when a colleague has sent you an exported template file, or when you are restoring one you exported earlier.

  1. In the Create template window, switch to the From existing template tab.
  2. Select the exported template file.
  3. Review the summary. It lists the documents the template produces, how many form fields each of those documents uses, and the date the file was exported. Check that these match the template you expect.
  4. Give the template a name.
  5. Select Import template.

The new template appears in the templates table straight away. Its status shows a spinner while it is being prepared and a green tick once it is ready. The template is ready to use at that point: select the + action on its row to start a session and produce your first document.

If your team has other templates that the new one replaces, a window may offer to mark one of them as superseded as soon as the import finishes. See Supersede a template.
